Traditional Healer
The primary goal of the Traditional Healer is to empower the individual to make healthy lifestyle decisions by introducing culturally relevant activities and services and to assist with the cultural aspect in the healing process of an individual.
The Anishinabek people believe that in order to achieve balance in life, a person must be healthy in all four aspects of their lives: spiritual, mental, physical and emotional. The Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe Behavioral Health Program embraces these four aspects of life as they also recognize that the healing process must focus on the person being served, as well as the family, the community and the support system of the individual.
